📜 SizeCon's Rules 📜
Code of Conduct & Guidelines for Encouraged Behavior
SizeCon is committed to providing a space that feels as safe and inclusive as reasonably possible. We recognize that attendees come from a variety of different backgrounds and that social expectations vary from community to community. We hope that these issues will not emerge during the course of the convention. We assume the best of intentions in our participants unless presented with information that suggests otherwise. In these cases, the convention staff will not hesitate to take action based upon the guidelines outlined below.
👮 Code of Conduct 👌
As a private event, SizeCon can sanction or remove attendees for any reason. This policy aims to provide clear and reasonable guidelines for expected behavior at the event and possible consequences if an individual transgresses against these guidelines. The consequences for breaking the Code of Conduct range from verbal warnings to ejection from the conference and associated online communities, as detailed below.
We understand that at times, our attendees will have disagreements or interpersonal conflicts that do not necessarily escalate to the point of harassment or abuse. SizeCon will not arbitrate these sorts of feuds. If, however, conflicts escalate to the point that they threaten attendee safety or violate our convention rules (examples below), the event staff may become involved. If you are unsure as to how something may be viewed, err on the side of caution and respect.👈
Each complaint received by the convention is evaluated on a case-by-case basis based upon the evidence presented, existing information about the participants in question, and ultimately, the judgment of the members of the security team and convention leadership.
🙅 Zero-Tolerance Harrasment Policy 🚫
SizeCon’s definition of harassment may not necessarily align with legal definitions of harassment. Therefore, attendees should regard the following guidelines as expectations of conduct in addition to legally actionable actions. In other words, the legal expectations of tangible proof are not necessary for the event staff to take action upon a complaint.
For our purposes, harassment includes:
📌Verbal comments or displayed images that denigrate individuals based upon gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, disability (physical and/or mental), physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, political beliefs, philosophies, geographic origin, or socioeconomic status;
📌Physical or verbal intimidation or any other behavior that reasonable individuals would view as abusive;
📌Loud arguments that move beyond the expectations of polite discourse;
📌Stalking;
📌Non-consensual photography or recording;
📌Sustained disruption of activities or other events;
📌Inappropriate physical contact or proximity;
📌Non-consensual physical or emotional interactions;
📌Unwelcome sexual attention, whether verbal or physical;
📌Refusing to respect a reasonable stop request;
📌The denial or downplaying of the coronavirus pandemic and/or other diseases, sicknesses or ailments.
This harassment policy applies to both in-person and online activities. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. SizeCon volunteers and staff are also subject to SizeCon’s Zero-Tolerance Harassment Policy.
Please note that while SizeCon’s commitment to fostering diversity aims to protect members of historically marginalized groups, the committee does not approve of blatant sexism or racism toward any group, including individuals from positions of historical power. The goal of our conference is to foster good will and shared insights among all groups rather than alienating individuals from one another. While political and societal discussions are allowed, overly generalizing the perspectives of attendees or leveling individual accusations toward someone based upon race, gender, or class are not appropriate.
🙅♀️ Reporting Harrasment ⚠️
SizeCon will provide members of our event staff with detailed instructions and training procedures in case of a violation or emergency. Attendees can report harassment at any time by speaking with one of our marked SizeCon Security staff. If you do not see Security staff, please seek out general members of SizeCon staff who can get someone from the Security team to come and speak with you.
Similarly, in the case of SizeCon [micro], please direct message Moderators (the equivalent to Security staff) or any member of staff directly to file a harassment complaint. To do so, right-click on their avatar and select Send chat.
😈 Seatbelts Policy 🦺
A seatbelt is meant to protect, not harm; staff in kink spaces should be expected to operate similarly. We at SizeCon recognize that bad players in kink communities sometimes find themselves drawn to positions of power, in order to take advantage of those they would wield that power over. In the interest of discouraging such players from volunteering with our convention, we instruct our volunteers and staff to refrain from making any sort of intimate advance (romantic, sexual, initiative of play, or otherwise) toward attendees of SizeCon where such a previous relationship does not exist. In contrast, if an attendee initiates an advance toward a member of staff and makes it explicitly clear that it's an advance, volunteers and staff are allowed to reciprocate.
🗣️ Open a Whisper with E.R.A. 🤳
The Existence Regulatory Assistant, ERA, can also now handle reporting security incidents. These messages are communicated immediately to our security staff, who will be in contact via ERA herself, one of their staff marked accounts on Discord, or via email with an @sizecon.org address. These messages are handled through secure channels.
🙈 Before or After the Event 🙊
If you are privy to information about harassment toward yourself or someone else by someone in the community at large, whether or not they plan openly to attend SizeCon, please email us at Production@sizecon.com. As registration is private, this information may prove important later. Please include as many details as possible, though you may choose to remove the identities of the alleged victims if a concern for retribution is present. These messages will remain confidential, known only to the organizers of the convention and our security staff. Reports received about registered attendees before the event are subject to the same consequences as those received during the in-person con.
💖What to Expect💖
Our aim is for SizeCon to be a place for anyone of age (18+) to gather and share their love for size. Even with this focus, we want the convention to be a place that’s just as welcoming to open-minded friends and family, and really just anyone curious about size in general. Most important is that, no matter who shows up, the convention is a positive space and, of course, a whole lot of fantastical fun!
We strive to provide attendees with a safe environment at SizeCon and have trained staff and security on site. Please do not hesitate to reach out to our staff with any questions or concerns you may have!
SizeCon attendees must wear their badge at all times during the convention, or have them ready to show to staff if asked. That is to say, not just anyone will be able to wander into the convention: this is a private space, for us.
Cosplay is welcome and encouraged inside of the convention. However, outside of the convention doors, such as inside of the hosting hotel, attendees are asked to adhere to what is generally considered appropriate. Please refrain from bringing costumes or masks that may scare or intimidate guests. Please help us keep SizeCon clean and considerate, by putting all your trash in garbage bins, and by keeping noise levels down outside of the convention rooms, including in hotel room parties during and after SizeCon.
In general, SizeCon has a non-sexual atmosphere, with special areas and attractions labeled for containing or allowing adult content. Sexual discussion is welcome and encouraged, but please be considerate: attendees will have a visible flag on their badge which notes the attendee’s comfort level with sexual discussion. For many, size is a fetish. At SizeCon, we celebrate those fetishes but want to keep the comfort of the size fascinated in general in mind as well.
😇 Special Guest Conduct Expectations 🙏
SizeCon is fortunate enough to have a number of professional models, adult entertainers, and volunteers participating in our event. Please keep in mind that everyone here is a real person with their own thoughts and emotions. The character someone portrays is just that, a character. Respect personal boundaries and do not pose with or make an advance towards someone without asking first. Many of these people have multiple fans they will be connecting with, so please do not try to take an unreasonable amount of their time.
🎥 SizeCon Photo & Video Policy 📸
Every attendee will receive a neon-green, round sticker to cover their phone cameras. Photos are allowed with restrictions while videos taken by attendees on the convention floor are strictly prohibited. Camera stickers can only be removed if you have received consent to take a photo. The sticker must conceal the attendees camera after the photo; if you lose this sticker, please ask for a replacement at the SizeCon Check-in booth where you initially picked up your badge.
Here at SizeCon, we adhere to a strict consent-only photo policy and use disposable, neon-green wristbands in order to designate how said consent should be obtained by fellow attendees. During check-in, attendees will be asked if they are comfortable with having their picture taken by others. Wearing a wristband means that the attendee is open to being asked for their consent to be in photos. If an attendee is not wearing a wristband, this means that they are NOT to be asked to be in a photo. Please respect their right to privacy. Breaking this very important rule will result in a permanent ban from SizeCon and possible escalation with local authorities if needed.
Many of our attendees want photos as a memento of their time at SizeCon, but also highly value their privacy. To accommodate our attendees and discourage photos being taken, we have an Official SizeCon Photographer on staff taking pictures of the event space, events, decorations, shops, and of course our neon-green wristband wearing attendees. If you do not have a wristband, you will not have your photo taken, period. Attendees are allowed to adjust their level of consent at any time; if they choose retroactively that they don’t want photos of themselves circulated while attending, then it’s on the attendee to seek out their photographers and actively revoke said consent.
At SizeCon [micro] attendees are encouraged to use video and voice chat, though neither is mandatory. If prompted to speak, attendees always have the option of passing. Video is not required but recognize that your visual absence while others are visible can make them feel uncomfortable. You are free to conceal your identity if it makes your more comfortable. This includes wearing a costume, surgical mask, or even digital costumes like a V-tube model or Video filter. We hope all attendees will try their best to be “present”.
Due to the nature of [micro], we prohibit all attendees from taking screenshots or actively recording video at SizeCon [micro]. Please respect the right to privacy for all of our guests and attendees while enjoying SizeCon [micro]. Should it be later found that this rule has been broken by an attendee, the consequences are noted above and include warnings, restrictions, removal from the event and our communities, or bans on attending future SizeCon events and participating in our communities, both virtual or in-person.
🔞 Adult Content Policy ⚠️
Adult content is allowed at SizeCon events, which is why minors are not allowed.
SizeCon does maintain some portions of the event that are equivalent to a burlesque act and operate under the same standards as held in real-life: full nudity is not permitted, but partial exposure of the breasts, stomach, hips, thighs, is allowed. Underwear or body-blocking options over specific sexual regions, per the gender of the character presented, must be maintained. These portions of the show are labeled as such, so you, our community, can fully understand the content that will be presented before you enter a specific panel or event at the show.
SizeCon does not have any restrictions on the type of content and services that are sold or displayed, as long as they do not break any federal or local laws.
When it comes to SizeCon [micro], we understand that running a show online means complying with a multitude of laws across international territories, and our convention must follow additional restrictions in order to operate and provide an online community. To that end, all content presented at the online convention must do so in a non-sexualized fashion, but vendors and guests may produce or sell adult content in their collections of work or portfolios.
For vendors, guests, and hobbyists who are attending the convention and wish to share adult work, we ask that you do so using only verified websites who handle that type of content, such as DeviantArt, Patreon, LoyalFans, OnlyFans, GiantessWorld, and others. You may not directly share or sell adult work on the Hopin platform, but you may share it within our assigned Discord spaces, per Discord's NSFW content policy.
